Help/FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Installing Fonts on a Macintosh
Step 1 (Decompressing Downloaded Files)

All of the fonts found on 1001fonts.com are packaged in either SIT (*.sit) or HQX (*.hqx) archives, which may also include author and copyright information next to the actual font file. Before installing a font, you must extract the font archive to some place on your harddrive using a tool like StuffIt Expander.

Step 2 (Actual Installation)

These instructions assume that you are running System 7 or higher.

1.Locate the font file(s) from step 1
(TrueType fonts will be named something like coolfont.ttf -- PostScript fonts are made up of two files, one called something like coolfont.bmp and another called coolfont)
2.Drag the font file(s) into your System Folder.

Your font should now be installed and available to all applications using fonts, such as MS Word or PhotoShop.
