| Why do I get
a bunch of squares when typing with a specific font? | |
Not all fonts contain a complete character set. This is very typical especially for low quality free fonts. Most free fonts don't include international characters, some fonts may not include full punctuation, some fonts may not have numbers and some seldom fonts only consist of either uppercase or lowercase letters only. If you get a square instead of the desired character, then that character is not included in the font. If you were trying to type a letter, try the uppercase or lowercase letter instead.
