Velvetyne Type Foundry

Velvetyne Type Foundry (VTF) is a Paris-based collective founded in 2010 by Frank Adebiaye, recognized as the first Francophone type foundry to release open-source fonts. Operating as a non-profit association, VTF is dedicated to researching and disseminating typography and typeface creation. Their mission is to democratize typography by designing and distributing libre and open-source typefaces, allowing users to use, modify, and redistribute them for both personal and commercial works. VTF's typefaces often embrace a spirit of roughness and sharpness, challenging conventional aesthetics and encouraging unique designs.
